Palacio de Urgoiti, also known as Palacio Gallo or de Adán de Yarza, was built by Don Miguel Vélez de Larrea at the end of the 17th century in Galdakao and has always belonged to the Adán de Yarza family.
Palacio de Urgoiti is in Galdakao at 15 kilometres from Mungia. His strategic situation overlooking the routes to Arratia and Zornotza was the perfect setting for numerous events in the history of Bizkaia and the meeting place for nobility members such as Don Carlos de Borbón.
Many mebers of the Adán de Yarza family have lived in the palace such as Rodrigo Adán de Yarza, mayor of Bizkaia in 1338. The Urgoiti palace was moved stone by stone and rebuilt in Mungia, a strategic setting at 10 minutes from Bilbao, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, the nice beaches of the area and many other places of cultural interest. Palacio de Urgoiti has 43 comfotable rooms, a heated pool, golf course, meeting rooms and an excellent restaurant.
